The Edelbrock Performer Square Bore Air Valve Secondary Electric Choke New Carburetor features a two-piece, all-aluminum construction for cooler operating temperatures and less warping. It is designed and calibrated for good street performance and fuel economy in 402 CID and larger engines with the Edelbrock Performer manifolds. There are no gaskets below the fuel bowl level for fewer leaks and no plastic parts or power valves to blow out. The Performer electric choke carburetor includes both timed and full vacuum ports for ignition advance. The carburetors use easily changed metering rods for precise tuning. The Edelbrock Performer warranty covers the replacement or repair of the product only and does not cover the cost of removal and installation.

My carburator is bleeding down overnight and its starting with fuel let in the manifold until level comes back?

I have a problem when starting my car cold. It conks out repeatedly but once it's warm it drives great. My mechanic said the carb was bleeding down overnight and is starting with fuel left in the manifold until the level comes back up. He recommended a carb specialist but considering I have a 1988 Chevy Spectrum he doesn't think it's worth the repairs. My question is two part. How extensive is a repair like this? Will it hurt to continue to drive the car when it's warm?

This is a complicated carburatorand yours is old enough that a replacement is in order, I'd not mess with trying to rebuild it myself.

You can score a rebuilt carb for it for $180 easy and know it will work perfectly. HEre's a linke to an good supplier:
