What is the value of a limited edition Harley Davidson?
I have a limited edition, numbered Harley. It's a 2003 Sportster 883, 100th anniversary edition with the special badges. It has a full custom Screaming Eagle package on it. It has a custom paint job with flames fading from white to red, a dual seat with willie skull sissy bar, and flame pegs. It is numbered on the tank, #75 of 500. I can't find anything remotely like it as much as I search. It has just under 1600 original miles, in excellent condition. I want to insure it properly, not just the price for a run of the mill 883 Sporty. Any ideas?
I hate to burst your bubble, but it's value, due to the BAD market on bikes right now, is worth around $7500 MAX. And that is only due to any performance upgrades done. Even though its the 100 anniv edition ( and I am assuming factory custom paint), BRAND NEW 1200's rubber-mounted, are going for $10k.
I know all to well, in reality, there is at least $12-15k in it, but market wise, $7500 max.
If I were you, since it is a Limted, (Factory Custom???) I would take it to an HD dealer and have it appraised for replacement value and documented for your insurance company. This is the ONLY way your ins co, will believe it's value.
